Well I think its very frustrating to see that AM is planning getting their first 2 T7s in 2005. So at the end we don't have a big choice! We only have 8 planes available for us! And more over we have to check if they are good maintained or if they don't need to go for a D-check or similar stuff! Ouf of 09 -300ERs there's 6 with PW4060 and 2 with PW4062. Out of 14 -200ERs there's none with PWs powerplants. And on the -300s models we need at least PW4060 in order to suffer less restrictions when flying out of MEx! True, lots of 67s out there! And according to this site ( ) as for today we have 47 -200s available and 17 -300s a great total of 64!Īccording to ( ) there are 35 767s for lease (what AM needs, not sale/acmi lease, dry lease or wet lease).Īnd we need 767 with PW powerplans for commonality on our fleet! Since AM -200s are powered with PW4056 and -300 with PW4062. What I am really getting at is, there are plenty of used 767s that AM can get its hands on at a really cheap price to fill in the gaps if it would use some 767-300s to fly double routes to high volume cities. And I would keep the the 7 767s as the 757 replacement! The real solution to this problem is getting at least, at least, I repeat at least 6 to 8 T7s. AM is showing big interest to Boeing on getting more 737s for the replacement of 45 MD80s and 7 757s. Perhaps, 757 will start leaving this year. 757 lease rents are very high and similar to the 767s. More over, AM is seriously considering retiring the 757 after the Dc9. Which by the way AM doesn't own any of those 14 planes. Maybe it would dramatically help CO to increase performance and reduce costs when you have a big fleet! But AM's only got 5 767. I would love to see it but I think they could go a better route.

I don't think that AM needs to upgrade to the 777.
